Symptoms: You are getting the following message when you're trying to use registry editing tools.

Cause: This problem is caused by a group policy.

Solution:

Download HijackThis from the following location: http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Run a system scan only.

Locate the following entry:
O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1

Check this entry and click Fix Checked

Logoff and log back in.

If the entry doesn't go away, you might be the victim of a spyware/virus program and we strongly advise you to submit a HijackThis log on the My Fixes Forums by going to the following link: http://www.myfixes.com/slides/spyware-27

A quick registration process will be required.
