No antispyware program is perfect. In order to remove a bad item a spyware scanner will have to first detect it. If we only miss one spyware program, that program will reinstall in short time everything that we removed. As I said before, the reason we go in safe mode for the removal process is because in safe mode Windows bypasses the startup entries. It is possible to disable most of the startup entries using an utility called msconfig.
The process of disabling startup entries is called Clean Boot.
Here's how it's done:
1. Click Start and choose Run
2. Type msconfig in the Run box and click OK
3. Click on Services on the top.
4. At the bottom of the window put a check mark in Hide all Microsoft services.
5. Uncheck any suspect items that are listed under the Services tab.
6. Click Startup on the top.
7. At the bottom of the window click Disable All
8. Check back only the security software. But make sure it's a legitimate name like Norton, McAfee, SpySweeper, Microsoft Antispyware, AVG.
9. Apply the changes close the window and agree to restart.

Note. After reboot a window will pop up saying that "You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way windows starts...". Make sure you put a check mark in "Don't show this..." and that you click OK to that message otherwise it will come every time you restart the computer.
