When we went back in normal mode the Your Computer is Infected wallpaper was gone. So were all those pesky startup messages. We achieved a lot but that one spyware program that was running in safe mode was not detected and was not removed. The computer took a very long time to start. We also got an error message about a sps.dll file.

When we brought up the task manager, rundll32.exe was there. So was a strange looking process with a random name. We tried to end it but every time we were killing it the program was coming back up this time with a completely different name. Within a short period of time sporadic pop-ups started to come up.

The Safe Mode troubleshooting, the Internet Explorer Cleanup, Ad-Aware, Add-Remove Programs and the Clean Boot have done a lot. However there was a need for something more powerful. That's why we downloaded Spy Sweeper.
